Armia ELKATCHA, Coptic artist innovator of Coptic icons. In 2002, he joined the Institute of Coptic Studies, to perfect his studies of iconography under the direction of Professor Isaac FANOUS who was one of the fathers of neo-Coptic art in the 20th century. In 2005, a pivotal year when he painted the icons of the Church of Archangel Raphael in Maadi, Cairo, and his theme was "Apocalypse", to present a new treatment on icon arts Coptic. Due to the fame this church gained, Armia gained greater reputation, to actually start his professional career inside and outside Egypt.

During her nineteen-year artistic career, Armia ELKATCHA brought her artistic touch to WADEA

sixty churches inside and outside Egypt, including "Saint George" at Kom Ombo in Aswan,
"Diocese of Saint George" in Giza and in France, the Cathedral of the Virgin and the Archangel Raphael, seat
of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Paris and northern France. He also painted the icons of the early Orthodox Church in Japan and Russia.

These days, Armia ELKATCHA is working on the painting of the murals of the nave of the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the administrative capital of Cairo, which comprises more than five thousand meters between the main dome and the semi-domes, and it is one of the largest murals in the world. Armia completed about 60% of its execution.

Armia ELKATCHA's icons had achieved such creativity and precision that they participated in exhibitions in the French city of Dijon, several exhibitions at the Atelier Bansard in France, and an exhibition in the Notre-Dame church in the one of the neighborhoods adjacent to the famous French city of Normandy.
